Another "top half" achievement by our government

Congratulations must go to the Labour Party. They have governed us into another fantastic "top half" position.

The third Demographia International Housing Affordability Survey released today shows New Zealanders are paying some of the world’s highest house prices compared to our incomes and Auckland ranks alongside London as one of the world’s most expensive housing markets.

Auckland ranked 21 out 159, Christchurch 31st and Wellington 47th.

Clearly the Herald is stuck on stupid, the problem lies not with the house prices but rather with the diminishing incomes of our workers compared to those overseas.

Of course the socialists are focusing on the problem, the same way the Herald is, by regulation to stop those evil house prices going up.

Chris Carter has these solutions to the non-existent problem, new uses of planning rules, special sector partnerships and Government-led development projects on surplus Crown land. Blah, Blah, Blah, utter claptrap.

You know when a politician is past it when he starts a sentence with "People of my generation are deeply disturbed by the enormous difficulties our children face….."

Time to punch out Chris.
