If Labour needed a convenient excuse to ditch this bill before it completely tanks their support then this is.

The Electoral Commission has said that it is "almost impossible" to interpret the act. They may as well have said they can't do anything and thus the act is impotent in it's intent.

The solution is simple. Kill the Bill and start again, this time with proper bi-partisan consultation, multiple and wide raging public submission, and for a change listen to experts instead of trying to ram through shoddy law that fails to do anything other than antagonise an already belligerent electorate.?
