Government presides over demise in Education

Principals worried at quality of teachers – 28 Jan 2008 – NZ Herald: New Zealand National news

The quality of teachers applying for jobs this year has principals worried. Labour of course will blame the last National government without even thinking. It has of course become their mantra. However the facts don’t match the rhetoric.

A person applying for their first teaching job will have had three years at Teachers College if they are primary teachers and three years at University and one year at Teachers College. Assuming they school at 18 they will be 21 and 22 years old respectively.

With nine years of Labour they have their entire secondary schooling and tertiary education under this Labour government.

We all know where the blame lies, there can be no debate. The facts are that these poor applicants for teaching positions have been (un)educated by the Labour Government.
