The Official Information (Amendment) Bill

I’ve written this Bill up this morning which would remove the exemption for the Parliamentary Service from the OIA as a public service to all MPs. Any MP can feel free to plagiarise it and have it submitted.

If MPs are serious about making Parliament more transparent then I ask that they give leave for the bill to be introduced and given its three readings today. If it is done without debate and with unanimous support, the whole episode would only take 60 seconds. Any MP that denies leave would be called out for being the cowardly and untransparent trough feeder that they are.

I’m sure Rodney Hide would be happy to introduce it…
