Philip Field Guilty

Ex-Labour MP and minister Taito Philip Field has been found guilty of 11 counts of corruption, bribery and 15 charges of wilfully attempting to obstruct or pervert the course of justice.

This is the same guy that when questioned in the house Michael Cullen defended;

Quite a range of matters in relation to Mr Taito Phillip Field’s role as a member of Parliament were investigated. It was not an appropriate matter for Mr Ingram to conclude anything in relation to conflicts of interest in that respect. If we were to have a commission of inquiry every time allegations were made about a member of this House, we really would have a very large number—starting off with any number of members on all sides of the House.

and Helen Clark who said;

“I think the only thing he is probably guilty of is trying to be helpful to someone”.

Field himself once said;

“I have never taken a bribe, I have never taken any money, I have never asked, requested or suggested to anybody in any way that they do anything for me in return for my help, any help, or work as a Member of Parliament in the 14 years that I have been in Parliament.

Well we now know that to be a proven lie. Philip Field will now go to jail as a corrupt politician and no longer can New Zealand claim to be free of corruption and bribery of our MPs to the eternal shame of Helen Clark and Michael Cullen who defended Philip Field until he hinted he might stand against them and then they chucked him out of the party for that crime rather than for his crimes of bribery and corruption. Their defence of Filed was so staunch that they even rigged an inquiry to find him “innocent”.

They should have been in the dock beside him.
