Skullduggery in the Hunua Selection?

Long time readers will know this blog does not support any candidate for selection in National seats, believing in fair play and ethics in selections at all times.

In 2011 WOBH outed the skullduggery in Rodney where Brent Robinson and Cehill Pienaar tried to jack up a selection by not following the rules or the unwritten selection etiquette of the party.

In 2011 the National Party was forced to abandon their selection in Rodney and start again because the electorate chair was trying to jack up the selection. The electorate chair was forced to resign the day after the selection, and deservedly so as there is no place for dodgy behaviour from impartial office-holders in the National Party.

In 2014 it appears that certain electorate chairs haven’t learned that they need to remain impartial.?

In Hunua the electorate chair Ian McDougall is committing the kind of skullduggery Pienaar did in Rodney. He is trying to force branches to elect his hand picked delegates, going around with lists lobbying people in an attempt to get them support ?his? delegates.

If this is true is an absolute disgrace and McDougall should be forced to resign immediately. There is no place in the National Party for officials elected in the expectation that they will be impartial to take partisan positions.

It isn’t like he is innocent either, because the last time he did this it was to try and rinse Paul Hutchison in favour of his mate Les Marinkovich. His interference failed back them. He has held a grudge against Hutchison ever since. He has form at this sort of skullduggery and white-anting of candidates. It has been no secret that he has been white-anting Hutchison for years and put up several stalking horses for this selection.

The Party hierarchy needs to investigate the skullduggery in Hunua immediately.
