Is angry Andy Little actually capable of making good decisions?

Labour leader Andrew Little has filled the last major role in his leadership office, announcing former Herald journalist and NZ Woman’s Weekly editor Sarah Stuart as his chief press secretary.

Labour announced the full team today after appointing Ms Stuart, whose former roles include deputy editor of the Herald on Sunday and managing editor of APN’s regional titles. She was editor of the NZ Woman’s Weekly from the end of 2010 to 2013.

Ms Stuart will take on the role of director of media and communications – combining the work of a chief press secretary for Mr Little with a wider communications strategy oversight for Labour.

To recap:

Little hires NBR journalist to help him with his campaign strategy.

Little hires Women’s Weekly editor to help him with his communications strategy.

Unless Little is totally insane, Stuart could not possibly have been on the top of the headhunting list. ?I wonder how many have said ‘no’ as they do not want their careers tainted and, like me, have a ‘no dick-heads’ rule?

The other explanation is that this is a stitch-up. ? Word from Fraser House is that the League of ex-Leaders have let poor Andy face the music all by himself.
