Are you buying your drugs online? [POLL]

I don’t mean illegal ones. ?And I don’t mean supplements. ?But I mean prescription drugs. ?Are you getting around a doctor’s visit this way?

New research has revealed a sharp rise in the online drug trade, revealing more and more New Zealanders are going online to anonymously buy drugs.

The hot topic at this year’s drug policy summit in Vienna is how to handle the exploding online market. The concern is that the trade is almost impossible to police.

“I think law enforcement is pretty stumped by this new challenge,” says Ross Bell of the New Zealand Drug Foundation.

It’s a challenge that’s growing quickly in many countries, including here in New Zealand according to the latest research.

The difficulty is that the drugs can be bought anonymously using software that doesn’t leave a trace, and the websites are becoming smarter.

This year’s survey also found a rise in drug users making their payments with the Bitcoin currency instead of cash, or who at least knew about it, as well as finding a growth in the use of social media to buy and promote drugs.

Drugs purchased online are sent by post and figures from Customs show the number they’re intercepting in the mail is skyrocketing.

If you have or are purchasing these drugs on-line, have you found that you are getting the real thing? ?How do you know?
