Face of the day

A slimmed down Cameron Slater

Cameron Slater

Today’s face of the day traveled to Christchurch yesterday to help promote the Kidscan charity but the reporter was more interested in Scum.

The mainstream media, ( in this case TV One ) have focussed not on the charity that he is promoting but in a repeat of the ‘ feral ‘ controversy? have instead attempted to whip up anger in Christchuch towards him because he used the word scum in a private facebook chat.Their headline is deliberately misleading as it reads,’ Cameron Slater says Christchurch quake victims still “scum”‘

The actual article makes it clear that the comment was referring only to those who chose not to insure their homes ( a small minority ) but the headline deliberately makes it look as if was about all home owners whose homes were damaged in the Christchurch earthquakes. They also fail to mention that the comment was obtained by criminal means and made public without his permission.

As well as being deliberately deceptive with their headline, the quoted words they are using to try and whip him with were not published on Whaleoil or spoken on radio or television. They were never in the public domain or intended for public consumption.

Nope, they were hacked, stolen from amongst eight years worth of private e-mails and facebook chats on Cameron’s private personal accounts. The only reason the comments ever saw the light of day was because of a grubby little panty sniffer called Nicky Hager and his willing accomplice, the criminal Rawshark.

So not only does our face of the day have to endure the theft of his private correspondence he also then is castigated in public about comments that were never meant for public consumption thanks to ‘ Ethical ‘ investigative journalist, ‘ Nicky where is the memory stick Hager.’

Obviously the Linwood primary school children do not watch TV One because Cameron has a sore hand from the number of autographs he was asked to sign while visiting them in Christchurch.

Still, Cameron like the professional he is used the negative angle of the reporter to raise money for Kidscan. He knows that people who believe all the negative stuff about him will enjoy watching Jesse hit him so he encouraged them to buy a ticket and come along to watch.

You can view the heavily edited version of what he actually said here.

Controversial blogger Cameron Slater says the uninsured residents of quake damaged eastern Christchurch are still “scum”.

Mr Slater is in Christchurch to promote his upcoming fight with cricketer Jessie Ryder at the end of the month.

In an email exchange between the Whale Oil Blogger and a friend about the Christchurch East by-election, published in the book Dirty Politics last year, Mr Slater writes “? the houses are gone and the scum are gone too, and they should get nothing”.

During a visit to a Linwood primary school today the novice boxer wasn’t backing down from those comments, but says they have been taken out of context.

“I think if people don’t look after themselves and then put their hand out and expect other people to pick up their poor decisions then you could call them scum”

Mr Slater hopes those who don’t like what he says will come along to “see me get my face punched in”
