According to UNESCO Jews Have No Connection to Temple Mount

Truth Revolt reports:

The UN passed a resolution Thursday denying the Jewish connection to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall, and reclassifying them as an exclusively Muslim shrine, according to the International Business Times.

Supported by 24 states, including Russia and China (with 6 countries opposed and 26 abstaining), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) resolution condemns Israel for its activities in Jerusalem and the West Bank and declares that the Western Wall and Temple Mount henceforth will be referred to by their Arabic names. The UN will reference the Hebrew terms for the sites only in quotation marks.

As the location of the first and second temples, the Temple Mount is Judaism?s holiest site. It is the third holiest site in Islam as?the place where Muslims claim that their prophet Mohammed made a miraculous journey to and from Mecca in order to ascend up to heaven. Yet the resolution includes a special section which says the Mount is sacred only to Muslims and fails to mention it as sacred to Jews.

?If the Jews have no definite connection to the holy sites, UNESCO and the United Nations has no connection to history and reality,? said Yuli-Yoel Edelstein, Israel’s parliament speaker, after the Thursday resolution.

“What’s next? A UNESCO decision denying the connection between peanut butter and jelly? Batman and Robin? Rock and roll?”?Prime Minister Benjamin?Netanyahu tweeted after the decision. ?

As IBT notes,

The Palestinian Authority initiated the?UNESCO campaign to reclassify the Temple Mount in 2015 and garnered support from Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar and Sudan. “Palestinians” want the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip for a future state, with Arab East Jerusalem as its capital. Israel regards all of Jerusalem as its capital, including the predominately Arab east annexed in 1967, though the claim is not recognized internationally.

The Israeli government had made multiple efforts to try and prove the historical Jewish connection to the holy site before the vote, even asking the Vatican for help (the Vatican has “observer” status in UNESCO), but without success.

No European country backed the motion. The U.S., United Kingdom and Germany were among those?against the resolution.?France, Sweden, Slovenia, Argentina, Togo and India abstained.

This is a travesty, especially with the gutless abstainers. Islamic countries are in bold.

Twenty-four countries voted in favor of the proposal: Algeria, Bangladesh, Brazil, Chad, China, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Iran, Lebanon, Malaysia, Morocco, Mauritius, Mexico, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Senegal, South Africa, Sudan and Vietnam.

Six countries voted against it: Estonia, Germany, Lithuania, The Netherlands, United Kingdom and United States.

While 26 countries abstained from the vote: Albania, Argentina, Cameroon, El Salvador, France, Ghana, Greece, Guinea, Haiti, India, Italy, Ivory Coast, Japan, Kenya, Nepal, Paraguay, Saint Vincent and Nevis, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Togo, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda and Ukraine.

UNESCO is a travesty, the UN is a travesty and now the obvious is being denied.
