ex-Labour donor keeps giving millions away

BETTER TIMES: ?Helen Clark and Trevor Mallard with Labour’s (then) biggest donor, Owen Glenn, at the opening of a University building Glenn paid for.

Businessman Sir Owen Glenn has gifted $2.6 million to the Auckland University Business School.

The school’s new dean, Professor Jayne Godfrey, announced the donation on Tuesday.

A new ‘innovation hub’ will open later in 2017 thanks to Sir Owen’s financial contribution.

The hub mimics Ivy League universities ‘maker-spaces’, which is a space, tools, support and environment for students generate ideas and test them.

Glenn says he’s excited to be supporting the university rise to compete at a international level.

“It’s about nurturing a new breed of graduate who is innovative, entrepreneurial, business-savvy, globally connected and capable of having both an economic and social impact.”

Good on Mr Glenn for not giving up on New Zealand even though a fair part of it has treated his philanthropy poorly. ?Ever since Labour screwed him over, they have known nothing but poverty and polls in the mid 20s.

Every time you sell a mug, a tea towel or get another gold coin donation, Labour should look at the photo above and write yet another letter of apology for shitting on a substantial financial supporter of the Labour party.
