Labour selects anti-Semite as New Plymouth candidate

Labour obviously doesn’t do candidate background checks.

They have selected Cory Haddock as their candidate to replace Angry Andy as their candidate in New Plymouth.

The man who stood against John Key in the 2014 election has been named as the candidate to challenge for the seat Andrew Little twice failed to capture.

On Tuesday, the Labour Party announced Corie Haddock as the candidate to stand against Jonathan Young in the New Plymouth electorate in the September general election. ?

Haddock, 41, stood against Key in the Helensville seat during the last election and won 12 per cent of the vote compared to the former prime minister’s 65 per cent.

But while he conceded he was always unlikely to win that seat, it was a great place to cut his teeth in politics and he was confident of wrestling the seat from Young, who beat Little by 9,778 votes.

All well and good, but Labour has just selected a well-known anti-Semite for that position. We’ve covered his shenanigans before.

On 13 November [2014] he posted this anti-semitic message on Facebook.

He got busted.

Corie Haddock, the Labour Party candidate who stood against New Zealand Prime Minister John Key in the recent NZ election, has posted an antisemitic image on his Facebook page.

The post states that ?There are only nine countries left in the world without a Rothschild Central Bank ? Russia, China, Iceland, Cuba, Syria, Iran, Venezuela, North Korea, Hungary. Isn?t it funny that we are always at war with these countries??

The message conveyed by Haddock?s post, of Jewish bankers fomenting wars,?is straight out of the?infamous forgery, the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Such fabrications are used to incite hatred of Jews.

The image was posted by Haddock on 13 November.

Both Key and Haddock stood in the electorate of Helensville, centred around Auckland.

John Key, whose mother is Jewish, was subject to several incidents of?antisemitic?graffiti on his election posters, before the September 20 poll.

So, well done Labour, you’ve selected an anti-Semite as your candidate for New Plymouth.

Cory Haddock has tried apologising for that image, but he also spent?days defending it on Facebook at the time.

In the UK Labour was busted for anti-Semitic views and now it appears Labour in New Zealand has chosen a candidate with openly anti-Semitic views as well.
