Forget about US sovereignty, let’s stick it to Trump says Jacinda [UPDATED]

Labour opposed the TPPA because they said that our sovereignty was at risk.

But when it comes to lecturing Australia and now Donald Trump it seems hypocrisy is the order of the day.

Israel has always had Jerusalem as its capital. It is what sovereign nations do, they choose a capital and that is that. But not Israel. No, we are beholden to Arab and Muslim interests and refuse to recognise the right of a sovereign nation to choose its capital.

The US is a sovereign nation too, and they’ve chosen to move their embassy to Jerusalem…and we are lecturing them about that too.

Worse than that, there is a politically motivated UN resolution coming up attacking a sovereign nation for daring to make a decision and Jacinda Ardern is saying we will stick it to the US.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has signalled that New Zealand will criticise US President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital in a United Nations vote tomorrow.

But she stopped short of calling him a bully, as Trump threatened to cut US aid money to countries that voted against him.

Countries will vote tomorrow on the UN General Assembly resolution declaring that Jerusalem’s status can be changed only by direct Israeli-Palestinian negotiations.

The US president strongly supported US Ambassador Nikki Haley, who said that the United States “will be taking names” of countries that support the resolution.

“For all these nations, they take our money and then vote against us. They take hundreds of millions of dollars, even billions of dollars and then they vote against us,” Trump told reporters in Washington today.

“We’re watching those votes. Let them vote against us … We’ll save a lot. We don’t care.”

Ardern was critical when Trump first recognised Jerusalem as Israel’s capital earlier this month, saying it “will make things difficult” for peace.

Today she said the logistics around tomorrow’s vote were still being ?worked through, but New Zealand’s position had not changed.

It has nothing to do with our position on Jerusalem, at all. This is a resolution attacking the United States for daring to make a decision in its own interests. By voting against them we are interfering in the right of a sovereign nation to make their own decisions, which is precisely why Labour opposed the TPPA.

She criticises people for too much “judginess” on her inept deputy, Kelvin Davis, yet here she is being extremely “judgy” herself over a decision of a sovereign nation.

I?m concerned the narrative setting, virtue-signalling and bold talking is a set up for a populist but ultimately naive yes vote, supporting activist Muslim nations.

“We’ve always made decisions that represent our beliefs and our position, and we’ll continue to do that. We’ve done it on things like nuclear issues before and we’ll continue to do so.”

Asked if she thought Trump was a bully, she said: “People make their own interpretations.”

Ardern has no idea of history and the fact that every single president from Bill Clinton to Trump, including Obama all recognised Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and must remain undivided.

The two-state solution and New Zealand’s position on that has nothing whatsoever to do with this resolution, but she in intent on poking the bear yet again. So, quite how this resolution which attacks the US, is in any way related to our existing position is beyond me.

Let’s hope Winston Peters has a chat with this silly little girl and tells her to pull her head in over this, or risk the wrath of one of our biggest trading nations.

New Zealand has voted in favour of the resolution condemning the US for daring to want to have their embassy in the capital of Israel. This is yet another Christmas betrayal by New Zealand of Israel, and also the US.

Once again we have sided with despots and dictators. Here is the wall of shame:

Benjamin Netanyahu has a message for those who supported Israel:

When it comes to anti-Israel voting, we (NZ) doesn’t apparently need to follow process. We know what?s right. Process would uncover facts, not emotion. So Jacinda Ardern makes it about standing up to America. She has just crapped all over their sovereignty, and Israel’s sovereignty. The next time she whinges about a trade deal diminishing our sovereignty she will rightly be laughed at.
