How to get a natural high from your food

If the idea of using Prozac, Xanax or Valium to treat anxiety or depression is unappealing, there is an alternative and by the way, if you aren’t a cocaine user, why are you dispensing cocaine-like Ritalin to little Johnny when there is a natural alternative to treat his ADHD?? Quote:

“Dr Pauc is one of a number of doctors in this field who also suggest dietary changes to support the child?s neurological system. Many children are suffering from an underlying nutritional deficiency and are not consuming the nutrients which will allow them to overcome this neuro developmental delay and develop a strong and health brain.

He believes that in addition to an underlying developmental delay, many children with ADHD, Dyslexia, ADD, OCD and Tourette?s also have a sugar addiction, which plays havoc with their blood sugar levels.? He also notes that these children are greatly affected by the many additives we find in our food today.” End of quote.

Pharmaceutical companies don’t want us to know that there are healthier and cheaper options for dealing with common mental health issues like anxiety and depression than prescription drugs.

Nor do they want us to know that the prescription drugs lifting our moods become addictive in the long term and they also create symptoms which mimic mental illness meaning we are unlikely to come off them.? Pharmaceutical companies are happy because they’re selling more of their drugs.? A little bit of crazy in my book is a great attribute, but long-term crazy compliments of pharmaceutical companies not so much.

Dr Gary Kohls is an advocate of using alternative medicine and he is highly critical of the drugs used to treat psychological disorders.? Quote.

Synthetic brain-altering drugs, which are all lethal at a certain dose (as opposed to the benign and healthy neurotransmitter precursors), never, never cure mental ill health. At best, they only mask symptoms that are often misinterpreted as representing ?mental illnesses?. Indeed, neurological dysfunction caused by psychotropic drugs is almost universal.

These unintended adverse effects commonly cause symptoms that mimic mental illnesses. (See the extensive lists of adverse neurotoxic and psychotoxic ?adverse? effects of any prescription psych drug in the dispensing pharmacy?s product insert or in the PDR [Physician?s Desk Reference] to confirm this reality for yourself.)End of quote.

Kohls has seen first hand the effect of prescription medication used to treat depression.? Quote.

Patients on any number of prescription or illicit brain-altering drugs commonly develop withdrawal symptoms by just staying on the (increasingly ineffective) initial dose (a ?poop-out? phenomenon also known as ?tolerance?).?Tolerance happens with the regular use of dependency-inducing drugs such as dopamine/norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor psychostimulants such as cocaine, the amphetamines (including Adderall), methamphetamine, Ecstasy, Effexor, Wellbutrin and the cocaine-like drug Ritalin) or the GABA agonists such as the tranquilizers/anti-anxiety drugs/hypnotics/sleeping pills such as Valium, Xanax, Klonopin, Restoril, Ambien, Lunesta, etc.??End of quote.

Instead, Kohls uses food and supplements to encourage the body to produce serotonin.? Quote.

Serotonin is probably the most important neurotransmitter in the brain because it naturally and effectively treats depression, anxiety and insomnia, as well as symptoms such as fatigue, irritability, agitation, anger, aggression, hostility, impulse dyscontrol and a variety of other mood issues.End of quote.

We can’t ingest serotonin, it is produced by the amino acids tryptophan and 5-hydroxytryptophan. These two amino acids are found in white meat, dairy protein, beans, egg whites, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, peanuts, lentils and bananas, but not in the quantities needed for treatment, so dietary supplements of magnesium, zinc, folic acid, vitamins C and B6 are recommended.? Quote.

It is important to re-emphasize that the natural antidepressant serotonin can only be increased in the body and brain by the ingestion of one of it?s two precursor amino acids ? tryptophan (which is found in protein, protein powder nutritional supplements or as an amino acid supplement) and/or 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP), an amino acid that is extracted from a bean from Africa.?End of quote.

Alternative medicine is scoffed at by traditional practitioners but it’s hard to argue with the results from some of the very good health professionals around?who practise alternative medicine.
