Monday nightcap

If you are intrigued by what Stefan Molyneux has to say, you may be excited by Jim Flynn. Emeritus Professor Joint Dept of Politics at Otago Uni, James R. Flynn was educated in the US and emigrated to NZ in 1963. He regards himself as a moral philosopher but nevertheless has made his name in matters of intelligence measurement.

In this area he has made important contributions (eg “Flynn effect”) and has stirred controversy – as Stefan does – in relation to a population’s intelligence. While TED talks can be variable in quality, Jim Flynn’s 18 minutes on “Why our IQ levels are higher than our grandparents” is extraordinary. With over 2 million views on YouTube, Jim’s talk is off the cuff yet
superbly organised and loaded with content and implications.
