Face of the day

Chelsea Manning – Sydney Opera House

Whaleoil defends today’s face of the day Chelsea Manning’s right to free speech.

The Free Speech Coalition also defends Manning’s right to speak in New Zealand.

Free speech is especially important for those people that we disagree with because if we do not defend their free speech then we put our own free speech at risk.

There is no BUT in free speech. There is legal speech and illegal speech. That is all.

For those who say that this is not a free speech issue and that the objection to her entering New Zealand is because she is a convicted criminal, Free Speech Coalition?spokesperson Chris Trotter has pointed out that convicted criminals have been allowed entry into New Zealand in the past. Nelson Mandela in 1995 and Jordan Belfort in 2014.
