The most important problem facing America

In the midst of an article about the media obsession with Trump and Russia, there was this table of the results of the latest Gallup poll asking Americans the question, “What do you think is the most important problem facing this country today?”

The article was showing that the media beat up over Trump and Russia and collusion and rigging the election and all that nonsense was simply not registering with the great unwashed. It is a beltway beat up. Every other President etc has met with Putin but when Trump visits, it is treason.? Which brought me to an interesting video clip.

But that is not the point of this post.

Global warming and/or climate change, which may or may not be the same thing, are totally missing from this list.

Sure there is an entry for “Environment/pollution” but that is not the same thing, and we should be concerned about pollution and its effects on our environment.

There is an entry for “Energy/Lack of energy sources”. This might excite the windmill and solar panel proponents but it failed to score.

Maybe it comes under “International issues, problems”, but that is a fairly broad church.

Whatever you do, do not tell James, Julie and Jacinda that nobody cares anymore. It is only?a?problem in their own echo chamber. Out in the real world people (well Americans anyway) are primarily concerned about immigration and poor government.

Is it so different in New Zealand?
