Clarke (with an e): “Look at me”

Self-promotion addict, Clarke (with an e) is at it again on Twitter:

Last I checked, the definition of “spouse” was “a husband or wife, considered in relation to their partner.”

A “partner”?describes the situation when you both are in a marriage-like relationship but aren’t legally married. A spouse is a partner who has gone through the process of obtaining a marriage license and are legally married. Like common-law partners, spouses typically live together and share relationship responsibilities.

Perhaps the Chief of Protocol hasn’t caught up with the modern world? Or was there a side trip to Las Vegas for a quickie marriage that no one has told us about?

Apparently not;?Julia says “Spouse is the correct term within the bureaucracy.”

As well as a “spouse” Clarke (with an e) is also a national hero as?BorneoBert says “Truly a daunting challenge, but thank you for taking it on, to enable our PM to be there. Good luck! You have hordes of kiwis rooting for you and family.

This seemed to cry out for a children’s book so that was covered in an earlier post.
