Sunday nightcap

125 years after New Zealand became the first country in the world to grant women the right to vote, VICE investigates what it?s like to be a female politician in 2018. Embedding with women from across the political spectrum?Green MP Golriz Ghahraman, National?s deputy leader Paula Bennett, Labour MP Louisa…

It is interesting to note that in the video you?ll see why Golriz Ghahraman’s family all came to New Zealand. They chose a better life in a Western country. Her Mum says, “I really didn’t want to raise you in Iran.” That is completely understandable as all parents want a better life for children but does that support the refugee/persecution/war claim narrative?

Tomorrow morning at 10am we have a guest post that looks closely at that narrative and that compares the different claims that Golriz has made at different times about herself.
