Born today in 1946, John Paul Jones (John Baldwin) songwriter, arranger, producer, bassist and keyboards with Led Zeppelin.

Born today in 1957, Dave Dobbyn singer, songwriter and guitarist with Th’ Dudes, DD Smash and solo.

Today in 1972, Don McLean’s “American Pie” was certified gold.

Died today in 2012, Bob Weston aged 64, songwriter and guitarist with Fleetwood Mac (72-73) along with session/guest work on albums with many other acts.
