Gareth Hughes forgets that National is not the government

Gareth Hughes is a typical nanny state Green leftie. Like many Green MPs he is an activist from way back. In 2004 he chained himself to the gates of the McDonald distribution centre in Wiri, dressed as Ronald McDonald.

In the below tweet he frames National as being pro-junk food when it is actually being pro-choice. He forgets that National is no longer the government, and he is still acting like he is a member of the opposition.

I should not be surprised, since being part of the coalition has not stopped the Green co-leader Marama Davidson from continuing to take part in protests at every given opportunity. It seems that the Green party do not know how to be in government; they only know how to protest against the government.

Their sole idea of governing is to see how many things they can ban.

No doubt Gareth Hughes would support a woman’s right to have an abortion, saying that he is pro-choice, yet he quite illogically in the next breath would say that the state should dictate to her what her school children can and can’t eat because the state knows best.

As one person said in response to his tweet: quote.

The local high school cut out all the food they dictated was bad. The dairy across the road then took over the previous video rental store next to it and expanded hugely. The school tuck came very close to going bust the dairy made a fortune. Pity left don’t understand. choice. end quote.

The left and in particular the Green party do not understand freedom of choice or freedom of speech. All they understand is activism and forcing people to do what they think is best for them.
