Welcome to Clown World

The great French philosopher Albert Camus tackled the problem of the Meaning of Life by concluding that it had none. Human existence, Camus decided, was essentially absurd. Gloomily, Camus pondered whether suicide was the only rational response to an absurd universe. Or, he wondered, should we embrace the absurd condition. Perhaps, Camus thought, recognising the absurdity of existence was the path to true freedom.

When watching the political left in particular descend into a screaming-helplessly-at-the-sky maelstrom of stupidity, some are coming to a similar conclusion as ol? Bert: we live in a clown world. Quote:

The culture war and the political landscape today really are a hellish, nightmarish dystopia from which no-one can escape?everyone has lost their goddamn mind. The culture war is insane. It’s quite literally a Clown World. End of quote.

Enter the Clown World meme. The meme takes the flag-bearer of the Great Meme War of 2016, Pepe the Frog, and dresses him in a rainbow clown wig and red nose. Quote:

[The Clown World meme] basically means that things are so downright insane and nonsensical that clearly the world must be some kind of satire or parody of itself. But in reality?this is reality: represented by ? a little clown frog. End of quote.

?Clown world? was first defined in an Urban Dictionary entry from 2017: Quote:

A phrase used to describe the current state of affairs in regards to the world (usually socially or politically). The word is employed as to state that something is ridiculous or nonsensical, in a way, “only could this be real, in a world run by clowns.”

[For instance] An article claiming that “Genital mutilation of girls in Islamic countries is a feminist act” could be followed/responded to by the statement, “clown world”. End of quote.

Urban dictionary offers further examples as proof that we are living in a Clown World. Quote:

We appear to be living in a clown world. Men are turning themselves into women, women are turning themselves into men, and brainwashed kids, god bless ?em, don?t know what to turn themselves into. Meanwhile, small-souled bugmen are protesting outside McDonald?s for Szechuan sauce because of a cartoon, and deranged SJWs can?t pull their eyes away from Donald Trump?s Twitter account.

Faceless corporations are pretending to be social justice revolutionaries while at the same time warping the capitalist system out of all functional recognition for their own gains. Governments and the media are no longer even trying to hide their support for cultural Marxist policies, and as community spirit across the West continues to disintegrate, more pea-brains take to social media to shout at each other and drive culture deeper into the gutter. End of quote.

Journalist Tim Pool offers further proof that we are in a Clown World. Quote:

This tweet from Jeffrey Guterman?said “Candace Owens is a white supremacist”. For those who don’t know, Candace Owens is a black woman. A black woman is a white supremacist. That doesn’t make sense?

But just wait! He’s not the only one who thinks this kind of thing happens. Remember when the Daily Beast ran this story: “Why young men of color are joining white supremacist groups”?How, at the same time, can you be white supremacist, but have people in your group who are people of color? How does that make sense?

Why certainly ? something like this could only exist in a world run by clowns. End of quote.

Meanwhile, the left has so completely run out of villains that they are reduced to screeching about how men sit on trains and that time is racist ? and their biggest bugaboo is a chicken sandwich chain. Quote:

If we’re really going to look back on history and talk about the great civil rights movement against the chicken restaurant?sounds like a clown world to me. End of quote.

Time to get yourselves a bicycle horn and a rainbow fright-wig, folks. We?re in Clown World, now.
