1968,  James Earl Ray, is arrested in London and charged with the murder of Martin Luther King Jr.
632,  In Medina, present-day Saudi Arabia, Muhammad dies.


452,  Attila the Hun invades Italy.


793,  The Vikings raid the Northumbrian coast of England.


1987,  The New Zealand Nuclear Free Zone, Disarmament, and Arms Control Act was passed into law. This established this country as a nuclear and biological weapons-free zone.
