Yesterday’s view is of Klodzko Fortress in South West Poland.

In 1300 the Czechs built a large castle on the hill. In 1622 it was captured by the Austrian army. Austria set about modernising it to deal with the age of canon warfare.

In 1742 it was conquered by Prussia which continued to expand it to cover 17 hectares. The lower walls are 11m thick and the upper walls 4m thick. This did not stop the French capturing it in 1807.During WW2 it was used by Germany as both a POW camp and a  Concentration Camp satellite camp

NOTE: We prefer photos to be from a window with preferably part of the window in the shot.

They do not have to be exotic locations. They can be the view from your kitchen window or bedroom window or lounge room window or car window on the way to work.
