Stuff Up of the Day

Today’s Stuff up of the day comes from an article about education!

A good rule to help you decide whether or not to use past or passed is if a verb indicating motion is already in your sentence, you will always couple it with past not passed.

For example,
The bus passed by her gate

BUT

The bus sailed past her gate
The bus flew past her gate
The bus blew past her gate
The bus goes past her gate

Please send any Stuff Ups you find in the MSM to sb at whaleoil.org.nz
