Climate skeptics more eco friendly

The obligatory picture of backlit harmless water vapour to illustrate a Climate Change story

Who’d have thunk it. Those who are sceptical about climate change are more eco-friendly than those who make a song and dance about it. Breitbart explains: Quote:

QuoteAmericans who are skeptical about climate change engage in personal behavior that is more friendly to the environment than climate alarmists, who support increased government regulation, a new study has found.

Michael Hall, a psychologist from the University of Michigan, led a team of researchers in a yearlong longitudinal study of 600 Americans who ?regularly reported their climate change beliefs, pro-environmental behavior, and other climate-change related measures? and published the results of their study in The Journal of Environmental Psychology[…]

The results of the study contradicted the intuitive assumption that people most concerned about climate change would be the most likely to engage in eco-friendly behavior, revealing instead that the contrary is true. There is an inverse correlation between climate-change concern and environmentally beneficial action.End of quote.

I wouldn’t call it contradictory. Those who talk the walk seldom walk the talk. Quote:

“You do not hug non-Muslims! That is disgusting”

You would think that ex-Muslims would be welcomed by liberals and the Left-wing as they embrace atheism, gay rights, freedom of thought and expression, human rights and equality of the sexes. Unfortunately, the reality is not always so pleasant as Yasmine explains. I think she will find that she is hanging out with the wrong political crowd and that many of the true supporters of classic liberal values these days are conservative libertarians such as myself. So-called Liberals simply aren’t that liberal anymore as they blindly support people who follow an ideology that rejects classic liberal values.

If you prick us, do we not bleed?

In the Merchant of Venice, Shakespeare wrote those words for a Jew to say, but today, those words will come from the mouth of an ex-Muslim.

I normally try to stay positive and veer far away from the victimhood narrative, as I was raised to think of myself as a victim when I was a Muslim. I was taught that the big, bad non-believers all hated us and wanted us dead and don?t care about us and that we should hate them back, we should never trust them, and indeed, that we should kill them.

But growing up in Canada, I saw no evidence of that. My teachers weren?t Muslim, but they were kind and loving.

?Did you hug your teacher?? My mother spat out one day, when she was picking me up from school.

?Ya, I love Mrs. Roth!?

?You do not hug non-Muslims! That is disgusting.?

The interview that turned a Gay man conservative

It took one interview with Breitbart?s provocative Milo Yiannopoulos to convince a gay liberal journalist that he was playing on the wrong team.

It wasn’t just the interview that convinced him it was also the intense backlash against him personally and the magazine ” Out “for doing their job. It happens here in New Zealand too. The left-wing puddle keeps shrinking as it adds more and more restrictions on who is allowed to belong. Willie Jackson has been rejected because he is not allowed to have a different view on Partnership schools and because they will not accept his apology for the roast busters comments.

The Left-wing and the Liberal’s in America are hurting their cause by demanding that everyone share the exact same view on everything. To reject and attack a reporter for simply interviewing someone whose views they disagree with is simply nuts. Milo Yiannopoulos himself was targeted because he wrote about the Alt-right in an attempt to explain their views. As a reporter, he was doing his job but instead he was smeared as Alt-right himself just because he wrote about them. Now Chadwick Moore has been demonised by Liberals for interviewing a Gay man that they have labelled as a racist, bigoted monster.

San Francisco welcomes illegal Mexican immigrants but rejects American Tech workers

San Francisco City Hall and War Memorial Opera House lit up for SF Pride

Progressives in?San Francisco fought to remain a Sanctuary city welcoming illegal Mexican immigrants with open arms. When it comes to their local neighbourhoods, however, they are rejecting their fellow American citizens and are blocking the migration of Tech workers (amongst others groups) into their own neighbourhoods. It is probably true of many liberal thinking people that they are very supportive of other people helping the less fortunate but when you try to put those same people into their neighbourhood, all of a sudden the welcome mat is gone.

San Francisco is one of the most progressive cities in the nation, especially when it comes to national immigration. We believe so much in the natural right of people to join us here in America that we fought to keep our status as sanctuary city even in the face of being federally defunded for it. We pride ourselves on our rejection of plans to tighten immigration controls and deport undocumented immigrants. Yet take that same conversation to the local level and all bets are off. City meetings have become heated, divisive and prone to rhetoric where we openly discuss exactly which kinds of people we want to keep out of our city.

This is an ethically incoherent position. If we in San Francisco so strongly believe that national immigration is a human right, then it seems strange to block migration into our own neighborhoods.

Everything is Racist these days

Wanting the British government to protect British jobs is racist according to this T.V journalist because if you want the British government to put British citizen’s employment needs ahead of non-British citizens ( according to her twisted logic ) you are saying that the British public is superior to them. It is a common theme seen again and again world wide.

  • Any political group that is patriotic and nationalistic is racist.
  • Wanting to protect your countries borders is ?racist
  • Being critical of the beliefs or actions of another culture is racist.
  • Believing in one man one vote rather than race based seats is racist.

Progressives Liberals and Lefties (how ever you describe them) have curious definitions of what is and isn’t racist. Below are ten things they think are racist and ten things they don’t think are racist.

Quantifying party leader traits to attempt a comparison

Guest Post

Over the last few years probably, since the 1999 election, I have been amazed at the growth of the Liberal progressive both in NZ and overseas. They have probably been around all my life, however, everywhere I turn nowadays it seems they are there telling me and you what to do.

This has led me to ask the question ? what is a liberal and in particular, a liberal leader? This in turn led to the inevitable question?? what is the definition of liberal?

Liberal ?

  1. willing to respect or accept behaviour or opinions different from one’s own; open to new ideas. “liberal views towards divorce”
  2. (of education) concerned with broadening a person’s general knowledge and experience, rather than with technical or professional training. “the provision of liberal adult education”

A person of liberal views. “A concern among liberals about the relation of the citizen to the state.”

All pretty straight forward really except that none of the liberal leaders that I have heard fit into any of these categories ? in particular ? ?willing to respect or accept?etc?. In fact I would think that concept would be anathema to a person like Andrew Little

Ouch, now my head started to hurt! So I thought maybe I should look at the term progressive ? maybe that will give a better definition of our liberal leaders and what makes them tick.

Progressive ?

  1. happening or developing gradually or in stages. “a progressive decline in popularity”
  2. (of a person or idea) favouring social reform. “a relatively progressive Minister of Education”

  1. an advocate of social reform. “people tend to present themselves either as progressives or traditionalists on this issue”

So? Someone who listens and accepts others views and wishes gradual change for the benefit of all people ? nah sorry ? this definition does not get close to Andrew and co.

A couple of stiff whiskeys later I hit on the bright idea that maybe Andrew and company are closer to the left than truly liberal or progressive ? maybe they are socialist or even communist.

  1. a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.
  2. policy or practice based on the political and economic theory of socialism.
  3. (in Marxist theory) a transitional social state between the overthrow of capitalism and the realization of Communism.

Well, this is certainly getting closer to what I believe Andrew Little and others of his ilk adhere to, but somehow it still doesn?t quite fit. So lets look at ?

a theory or system of social organization in which all property is owned by the community and each person contributes and receives according to their ability and needs.

Nope still doesn?t cut the mustard ? so lets look at the last extreme ?ism? and see if they fit in this niche ?

an authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organisation.

(in general use) extreme right-wing, authoritarian, or intolerant views or practices.

“this is yet another example of health fascism in action”

Damn! This definition comes the closest to Andrew Little except it is extreme RIGHT wing. All the other bits fit ? extreme, authoritarian (let?s all work together and do it my way) intolerant – in fact, communist Russia was closer to this definition than so-called socialism or even communism.

So, if they don?t fit the definition how is it possible to recognise one of these individuals?

My next thought was to look at the various human traits and see if I could come up with a formulae that would let me identify these types of leaders easily .

I selected the following traits to look at for this exercise: Read more »

In their eagerness to protect Islam the left have abandoned the gay community

Sometimes in life you cannot hold two positions simultaneously, and the left in America are struggling with a situation that forces them to make an uncomfortable decision. In order to protect one group it has given victimhood status to, it must acknowledge that the ideology of another group that it has given victimhood status to is responsible for a massacre. Instead of standing up for gays and focusing on protecting them after the Orlando massacre, the left and some gay activists have chosen to close ranks around Islam and to stay in denial about the reality of the massacre.

Ironically, while gay journalist Milo Yiannopoulosis is told that there are not enough police to protect him from hundreds of actual Muslim death threats at a press conference, police are on the roofs of all the mosques in the same area to protect the Muslim community from violence that has not been threatened and will never eventuate.

The left will not hold Islam accountable in any way, shape or form for the massacre. They prefer to blame their favourite scapegoat and whipping boy, Christianity, despite all evidence to the contrary. Islam is at the top of their victimhood pyramid and there is no way that they are going to hold it accountable.

The Left’s abandonment of the gay community so infuriated one man that he came out of the closet publicly in order to attack some Liberal gay leaders and activists.

Jim Hoft of the widely read Gateway Pundit conservative news blog came out as gay following the Orlando terrorist attacks and immediately started throwing punches at prominent gay activists who he says, just don?t get it.

During a segment on Newsmax TV, Hoft called out gay leaders who blasted Donald Trump, saying he?s the only candidate speaking about radical Islamic terrorism, which calls for the death of gay individuals. Read more »

Raped by a refugee? don’t ask a Liberal for help

We think of Liberals as being caring and the social conscience of our countries. After all they often describe conservatives as heartless and selfish so they must be the opposite. Liberals are the ones that want to bring in more refugees. They are the ones that want open borders and do not value western culture. When their open door policies have terrible consequences for women and children you would think that they would do all they could to help and protect them. After all aren’t Liberals feminists and don’t they hate the patriarchy? Unfortunately when refugee girls and women are brutally raped by other refugees within Liberal run asylum centres, the Liberal employees in many cases do not want to know. They are suppressing inconvenient truths as they do not want to admit that their big social experiment is having disastrous consequences.

After a 10-year-old girl was raped by a fellow refugee, she went to asylum center employees, only to be given an equally sickening response.

A little girl was lured into a migrant man?s room at an asylum center and brutally raped while her screams for help went ignored. When he was finished, she ran to the liberal worker and told them what had happened. However, instead of calling the police and helping the injured and traumatized child, they had just one concern.

Unveiled: Three women share their experiences of the hijab

The extracts below are taken from an article written by a feminist and former Christian fundamentalist, and I think she is uniquely placed to interview these three ex-Muslim women. Unlike many feminists, she has experienced personally what it is like to be part of a religion that is rigid and controlling.

…Recently, several articles have highlighted the perspectives of Muslim women who experience their use of the hijab or abaya as voluntary and feminist. By contrast, this article gives voice to three women who have left Islam.

Marwa Berro (a pen name) is a Lebanese-American writer and philosopher. She grew up between Saudi Arabia and her native Lebanon and lives now in the United States.

…Reem Abdel-Razek, is a twenty-one year old Egyptian blogger and translator who lives in New York.

…Heina Dadabhoy was raised Muslim in the United States. Now a self-described atheist, she writes for Skepchick blog and is a sought-after speaker on topics including Islam, feminism, skepticism, gender, culture and the intersections of the above.

How did you come to wear the hijab, and what did it mean to you at the time?
