Trump haters meet a patriot

Bet you anything the FedEx driver is a veteran.

The left’s reaction to Trump is totalitarian in its instincts

Journalist Melanie Phillips talks about the totalitarian opposition to Donald Trump, whom the left both here in New Zealand and abroad?routinely describe as “fascist” and like Hitler. Phillips points out that fascism, in fact, is daily exhibited by the left, not by Trump or his supporters.

Phillips says that the hysterical reaction against President Trump is totalitarian in its instincts and incites hatred, paranoia and aggression. Ultimately it?s not about president Trump at all but about the protesters themselves.

“All right you little gods. You’ve had the balls to come this far, now we’ll see if you can go all the way! Me, I’m just an ordinary guy. If you’ve brought your name cards, you might as well donate them to the war effort, because you?re not going to need them. And if you’re still virgins, you better go out and get laid right away!”

Guest Post – Is patriotism dead?

A Guest post from Reclaiming the Left. His last post is here.

Is patriotism dead?

One of the things I like about attending local Labour events is the patriotic rhetoric. There are still grassroots campaigners who really do believe in New Zealand. They are like a breath of fresh air, because you hardly ever hear similar rhetoric in the mainstream media.

As an avowed leftist, one of the things I despise about neo-liberals and their like is their rejection of patriotism. Neo-liberals have given us the global free market. They have given us outsourcing. They, in what I regard as the greatest war crime of the past 20 years, gave us the massive mercenary forces that supported the US invasion and occupation of Iraq. The Cat fight turns into a three-way, I so want to watch this

Cactus Kate: Guess Who Copies Who? Part II

Firstly a little history, The Gluc and Cactus have been having a war, perhaps a little one sided because the Gluc only has a possible say on the matter once a week through the Herald, whereas Cactus can slag her anytime, anywhere, the beauty of a blog in a bitch fight.

So last week Cactus caught the The Gluc doing the journalist equivalent of cheating.

Mrs Smith has now got in on the act by commenting on the little or rather should I say large issue of The Gluc’s plagiarism. This is getting very interesting and could well turn out to be a blockbuster event should the three of them get together for a little wrestle.

Whaleoil makes it to the gossip pages

The Gluc has written about my post on "The Dick's" little recorded tirade against Cameron Brewer. Does that make me famous or The Dick?
