I wonder if David Bain knows about these?

This is not the first time a business has tried to make money off David Bain. Back in 2009?Mr Vintage created a range of T-shirts copying designs from David Bain’s woollen jerseys.

The release of the T-shirts comes in the second week of Bain’s retrial on charges of murdering five members of his family in Dunedin in 1994.

However, Mr Vintage managing director Robert Ewan said the company only meant to comment on a “crime of fashion”.

At Bain’s first court appearances in the 1990s he became known for the unfashionable jerseys he wore.

Cry baby gets his wig back, and a leaked memo arrives in my inbox

Cry Baby of the year Phillip John Smith has won his case to get his wig back.

Justice Wylie strikes again:

Balding murderer and sex offender Phillip John Smith has won a legal challenge against Corrections over a decision to take away his toupe.

Smith this month took the Department of Corrections to court because they prevented him wearing a hairpiece ever since he used one as part of a disguise to flee to Rio de Janeiro in November 2014.

At the time of his escape, he was on a temporary release while serving a life sentence for the 1995 murder of the father of a 12-year-old Wellington boy he had been molesting.

In a decision released on Thursday, the High Court at Auckland ruled the department had failed to take into account Smith’s rights under the Bill or Rights Acts. ? Read more »

Convicted child sex offender Phillip Smith is trying to get his wig back

by Stephen Cook

Prison authorities have confiscated Phillip Smith?s hairpiece after comments on social media yesterday ? and apparently the convicted killer and kiddy sex offender is none too pleased.

This isn?t the first time Smith?s hair-raising vanity has got the better of him.

When Smith was recaptured in November last year after fleeing to Brazil while on temporary release from Spring Hill Prison he went on a hunger strike, upset police refused to return his beloved toupee. At the time, his lawyer claimed police were trying to punish his client for his brazen escape out of the country.

Eventually the wig was returned to Smith, but this week it was confiscated again after word leaked out on Facebook yesterday. ?? Read more »

Can this hair thing get any more surreal? Thanks to Peter Dunne it can

United Future leader Peter Dunne said having your hair pulled was no laughing matter.

“I had the occasion last year of being at a function when someone grabbed a full handful of my hair and yanked it because they were convinced I was wearing a wig,” he said.

He said it was painful and they were wrong.

Mr Dunne said in any situation where a person’s personal space was invaded and they took take offence, it was entirely appropriate for the offender to apologise.

I’m not even going to comment. ?I’ll just leave that as it stands.

Not on straight

I think his wig is a askew, check the video.
